Rifle Team and Honor Guard
Corp. Neil W. Reid VFW Post 2358
Whether in winter snows, or basking in summertime sunlight
we stand ready to render farewell salutes to our fallen Comrades.
The Corp Neil W. Reid Post 2358 Rifle Squad musters about nine members all total. Members, at present
time, are Team Commander Ted Hetherington, Team Lt. and Bugler Don Block, Riflemen Bob Kuechenmeister,
Tom Dubiel, Ron Conger, Harrell Balch, John Laffey, Jim Reeve and Leon Hinkle.

The deceased Veteran receives a three-volley rifle salute prior to Taps being played.
The spent shell casings are presented to the family as a small memento from the Squad.

No, contrary to popular belief, there is no requirement for a 21-gun salute except as established by
“an order of arms” protocol that sets forth a 21-gun salute for a President, ex-President or foreign
head of state. The three volley salute is traditionally carried out with a minimum of five rifle members
up to a full squad of seven riflemen.
